PAUT

Advanced phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) for detailed flaw imaging on welds and complex geometries.

Phased-Array-Ultraschallgerät bei der Schweißnahtprüfung

Phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) for high-resolution weld inspection

PAUT uses an array of electronically controlled ultrasonic probes to examine components from multiple angles. The method delivers detailed flaw images, particularly for welds and complex geometries. By electronically steering and focusing the sound beam, we achieve maximum volumetric coverage with the highest precision.

Key features and benefits:

  • Detailed flaw imaging on welds: Sectorial and linear scans enable precise visualization, classification and localization of internal irregularities.
  • Suited to complex component geometries: Flexible adaptation to difficult component shapes where conventional probes reach their limits.
  • Complemented by TOFD: A valuable combination with time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD) technology for even more precise flaw sizing in demanding inspection tasks.
